Quotation format
A quotation tells a customer what the work or goods will cost before they agree. Download the format in Word or Excel, or make it online: the totals work themselves out and you get a PDF headed “Quotation”.

What goes on a quotation
- Your business name, address and phone or email.
- The customer’s name and address.
- A quotation number, the date, and how long the price holds (valid until).
- One line per item or job: description, quantity, rate, amount.
- Tax, if you charge it, and the total.
- Your terms, for example an advance before work starts.
Quotation or invoice
A quotation comes before the work and asks for a decision. An invoice comes after and asks for payment. When the customer agrees, open the same draft, switch Document to Invoice, give it an invoice number and download again.

Can I turn a quotation into an invoice?
Yes. In the editor, change Document from Quotation to Invoice, set the invoice number and dates, and download again.

Yes. Set the tax label to GST and a rate on each line.
