The template, as a file
Ten item rows, a total and a paid-by line. The Excel file multiplies quantity by rate and adds up the bill.
What a bill shows
- Shop or business name, address and phone number.
- Customer name, and phone if you have it.
- Bill number and date.
- One row per item: name, quantity, rate, amount.
- Total, and how it was paid: cash, UPI or card.
Bill or invoice?
In everyday use they mean the same thing: a document asking for, or recording, payment. “Invoice” is more common between businesses and usually carries a due date; “bill” is more common for a sale paid on the spot. If you are GST-registered, the document needs the GST fields, whatever you call it.

Is the bill format free to download?
